Canadian Alpaca Farm Days - September 2010
Come and visit our alpacas, up close and personal on Sunday, September 26, 2010!
We had such fun last year opening our farm to several hundreds of visitors and sharing our alpacas that we are going to open our farm again this year! Once again, Moore House Fine Alpacas is excited to participate in Canadian Alpaca Farm Days in its 2nd year. This is a National event in which alpaca farms all across the country open their farm gates and invite visitors to share in the delight of the glorious alpaca.
Located just minutes outside of Fonthill between St. Catharines and Welland, come and share in the delight of the glorious alpaca at Moore House Fine Alpacas. Our farm will be open to visitors from 10am - 4pm on Sunday, September 26 so that you can see these gorgeous animals. Enjoy watching the newest additions to our herd, born this summer, playing and pronking in the grass. Get your hands into sumptuous alpaca fleece to experience for yourself the luxury of alpaca!
For those of you who are considering joining the alpaca community with an alpaca farm of your own, this is a perfect opportunity to view an operating farm and to discuss the merits of alpaca ownership.
Knitters and fibre artisans in the crowd will be excited to browse through our wide assortment of alpaca yarns, rovings, and custom knitting patterns, looking for the perfect yarn for their desired project. There will also be a number of finished items for sale as well. Keep in mind... Christmas is coming!
(PS Alpacas are afraid of strange dogs, so we kindly request that guests please leave their pets in the comfort and safety of their own home while visiting our farm.)

MH Topaz Beauty takes top honours at Alpaca Ontario Show! - April 2009
Supreme Champion Female Huacaya
We are thrilled to announce that our juvenile MH Topaz Beauty earned Supreme Champion Female Huacaya at the Alpaca Ontario Show in April '09! Competing against 125 other females in the largest show in Canada, this is quite an honour indeed!
Topaz is out of our 2 time Grand Champion DPO Lexus... a Champion creating Champions! She is a gorgeous light fawn colour with a very stylish look. The judges commented on her superior balance of fineness with density, nice crimp, staple length, and brightness, proper conformation with great bone, and lovely head - the whole package.
We just sheared Topaz and WOW! Her fleece just went on and on and on. A brighter fleece we have never seen... gorgeous lock structure with well developed crimpy bundles... sensational handle. Just stunning!!
