EXCHANGES AND RETURNS:
We hope that you are pleased with your purchases! Exchanges or refunds are permitted for unworn or unused items with the original label.  If you would like to return or exchange an item purchased during our Christmas season, please contact us at alpacas@moorehouse.ca or 905-892-8252 to make arrangements for your exchange or return.  Shipping costs are not refundable.

All exchanges and returns must be made before January 15, 2024.

CURBSIDE PICK-UP:
We offer "veranda" pickup for our local customers so you can save on the shipping charges. Rather than placing your order through our website where shipping charges will automatically be applied, please call or email us your order and we will set up a mutually agreed upon appointment for pick-up (to ensure that I am here when you come).

SHIPPING:
We ship using Canada Post Expedited to destinations in Canada and Canada Post Small or Tracked Packet to destinations in the US and abroad and will endeavor to ship your order within 2 business days of receiving it.  Some orders of yarns or rovings may take a little longer. Once your order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number so that you can monitor the status of shipping.

To determine Canada Post delivery times from our location to your address, click here to use the Canada Post Delivery Standards tool by entering your postal code. Our postal code is L0S 1M0.

A word on shipping rates....  Please note that shipping rates have sky rocketed in the last year due to high fuel surcharges that Canada Post and couriers apply to each package we ship.  We regret that we have had to increase our shipping rates to reflect these surcharges.  Since we are a small family business offering only superior quality Made in Canada items or other fair trade items from Peru rather than things manufactured cheaply in the third world or China, our margins are very small so we cannot offer the free or discounted shipping rates like the big box stores and amazon do.

FARM VISITS:
Because we are in the midst of several long overdue home and farm renovations, we are suspending private farm visits at this time so that we can focus on the jobs at hand to get them finished before the spring farming season arrives. We appreciate your understanding!!

Christmas is a fabulous time of the year to share your appreciation of all things alpaca with your loved ones.  Our seasonal alpaca store offers alpaca apparel such as alpaca gloves, alpaca hats, alpaca scarves and our ever popular alpaca socks!  Or treat yourself or a special person with something for the home such as an alpaca throw or alpaca duvet or even alpaca dryer balls.  We're always sourcing out new alpaca items and styles and developing our own product lines.  We have a few new goodies so be sure to stop in and have a look!  Knitters in your life would love to work with our alpaca yarns made from fleeces from our very own alpaca herd.  Yarn is either sold in individual balls or skeins or is teamed up with a custom Moore House pattern in a Paca Pac Knit Kit.

Alpacas... Live the life... Live the luxury!

Twister - so sweet

Welcome to Moore House Fine Alpacas, an alpaca breeding farm located in picturesque Niagara, Ontario!

Our Beginnings...

A desire to end the hectic pace of the corporate lifestyle, coupled with wishing to spend more quality family time, gave rise to Moore House Fine Alpacas a number of years ago.  We were smitten with alpacas at our first introduction and have never looked back since our alpaca adventures began.  Alpacas, with their luxuriously soft fibre, endearing personalities, and undemanding care were the perfect choice for a small acreage like ours.

At Moore House, you'll enjoy a wide selection of reasonably priced huacaya double and single registered breeding stock , award winning alpacas, as well as fibre and hobby alpacas ideally suited for first-time purchasers, with the peace of mind that comes from dealing with a farm committed to integrity and breeding excellence.  You will receive plenty of personal attention and mentoring that our small farm is noted for, both before and after sales.  As huge believers in education, we regularly attend seminars and workshops about alpacas and readily share best practices and tips for success with our clients. Your success is our success!

Bloodlines We Offer...

We carry some of the finest genetics you can acquire, including champion bloodlines from CPeruvian Daniel, DPO Lexus, Victor's Vaccoyo, Alpamayo, Hemingway, Jolimont Peruvian Pauco, PPeruvian Guellermo, Batido, Peruvian Desperado, CPeruvian Timo, Peruvian Condor, and other high impact bloodlines.  As each cria season comes to a close, we are delighted with the results of our breeding program.  We invite you to browse our alpacas for sale and contact us if any of our quality alpacas catch your eye.

Our Approach to Alpaca Handling...

Moore House is a small alpaca farm that is big on quality.  We make a point of never losing sight of our love for our alpacas.  You can be confident that each of our alpacas is calm, approachable, and can lead well since we use Camelidynamics@ techniques for interacting with them.  When you visit, you will see the benefits of our approach!  Take a walk in our pasture and you are sure to find a girl or boy you just can't resist!

Moore House Alpaca YarnAlpaca Fibre Industry

At Moore House, we recognize that a strong alpaca fibre industry underpins the long term success of alpaca commerce and that alpaca breeding and the fibre industry are intimately linked.

Catherine has become known in alpaca circles as highly knowledgeable about alpaca fleece, particularly since embarking on the journey to become a fully certified Camelid Fibre Sorter/Grader through the certification program offered by Old's College, Alberta.  As an apprentice Sorter/Grader, Catherine travels the country side to numerous alpaca farms during the shearing season to sort and grade fleeces for other alpaca owners.

We are excited that a growing number of people are becoming aware of the luxurious qualities of alpaca and are seeking out apparel and products for home that boast Canadian alpaca.  As a person who enjoys engaging her "artsy" side through knitting, spinning, felting, dyeing, as well as designing, Catherine is happy to share her knowledge of fibre quality to prospective clients.
